Yes, if you plan to self-drive. You'll need a valid International Driving Permit alongside your home license. Most short-stay tourists skip this entirely by booking a vehicle with a driver instead.
For mountain routes and first-time visitors, a driver is strongly recommended Nepal's hill roads are narrow and driven differently from Western traffic. Self-drive suits confident drivers on paved highway routes like Kathmandu–Pokhara.
Yes most of our bookings are confirmed online days or weeks before arrival, with the vehicle and driver ready at Tribhuvan International Airport when you land.
